Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kilimani have apprehended Meshack Kipleting Tarbei, a suspected serial fraudster and Director of Motorshop E.A Ltd.

According to the DCI, Tarbei had been on the run for over a year after allegedly defrauding multiple individuals of their hard-earned money.

Operating from an office previously located at Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road, Tarbei reportedly closed shop abruptly, leaving at least nine victims to file complaints at the Kilimani Police Station.

“Upon receipt of the complaints, detectives sprang into action in search of the villain who was smoked out of his hide out at King Serenity Estate in Rongai where he was escorted to DCI Kilimani offices for processing pending arraignment,” the State agency said in a statement.

Tarbei has since been escorted to the DCI Kilimani offices, where he is being processed in preparation for arraignment.

Authorities suspect there may be additional victims who reported similar incidents at other police stations within Nairobi, and are hence consolidating all complaints to ensure comprehensive justice for the victims.
