Busia family appeals for help to repatriate kin’s body from Saudi Arabia

Busia resident James Epurati, whose daughter died in Saudi Arabia in December 2024, is appealing for help to repatriate her remains.
A family in Koruruma village in
Teso North, Busia County, is appealing to the government and well-wishers to
help them bring home the remains of their daughter who died three months ago in
Saudi Arabia.
James Epurati says his daughter went overseas to seek greener pastures to support
the family.
Epurati says his daughter had stayed in the
Middle-Eastern country for six years, until December 16, when they were told she
was sick and bedridden.
Through the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the
family was asked to raise Ksh.450,000 to facilitate the transportation of their
daughter's body, which they say they cannot afford.
“I appeal to our MP, senator, Foreign Affairs
Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and even President William Ruto to hear my
cry. I am helpless, and my wish is to see my daughter’s body and give her a proper
send-off,” Epurati said.
