WEPEX 2025 expo to engage stakeholders in meeting demands in water, energy sector

The exhibition, set to take place at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) from September 3 – 5, 2025 will bring on board multiple stakeholders to achieve its objectives and meet the needs of the target market in the water and energy sector.
Eastern and Southern Africa ranks lowest in access to at least basic drinking water services with Over 226 million people in ESA (about 47%) have no access to at least basic drinking water services.
The highest burden is in countries like Ethiopia (61 million), Uganda (27 million) and Tanzania (24 million).
Poor management of water supply services is affecting their sustainability. As in other regions in the developing world, the Africa experiences failure of water systems characterized by a high proportion of non-functional systems, high breakdown rates are and poor cost-recovery.
As such, smart water solutions such as solar powered water supply systems that offer more sustainable and economically beneficial solutions is continually growing.
Eastern Africa is a region with vast untapped energy resources, including hydro, geothermal, wind, and solar power, which could be harnessed to support economic growth and development.
The utilities sector is expanding as an outcome of the growing demand for energy and water resulting from the rapid urban and industrial expansion, a fast-growing population, and a change in modern lifestyle.
Over the years, due to the robust economic growth, rising population, increasing middle class and continuing government investment in infrastructure projects, Africa’s power and water demand has witnessed a rapid growth.
This has led to ambitious programmes to cater for the fast- growing demand for utilities, providing a host of opportunities for private and market sector investors alike. This relies greatly on Energy and water as enablers for its delivery.
It’s about time for the African Companies, Firms and institutions to take the leadership on the African economy in these important economy boosting sectors to avert the global effects in the Continent.
With the strong support of the Governments of Kenya and Egypt and other countries involved and the private sector equally, WEPEX will form a the most interactive platform to satisfy all business and investment needs of East Africa and beyond.
