Brookside Dairy Limited has settled a Ksh.579,126 debt owed to Nyali MP Mohamed Ali, arising from a defamation suit.

“As a matter of abundant Caution, and in the event the ex-parte orders are not granted we hereby enclose our cheque in the sum of KShs.579,126/- towards payment of the figure stated in the said proclamation. This payment is made without prejudice to the said application and in any event without admission of the validity of the said proclamation,” the company said in a letter to Mohamed Ali’s lawyers.

Ali was to seize the firm’s assets, including dairy cows in a bid to recover the debt.

Brookside Dairy Limited this week filed an application seeking to stop M/s Fisra Auctioneers from auctioning them.

In October 2022 High court threw out a defamation case against Ali that was filed by Brookside Dairy Limited.

Brookside had sued Ali for allegedly inciting the public to cause economic and commercial harm to its business.
