'Bomas was a crime scene', Azimio alleges as they claim IEBC servers hacked
Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga's chief
agent, Saitabao Ole Kanchuri, has intimated that the systems used by the
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to tally the results
of the presidential contest were compromised ahead of the official announcement by the electoral body.
Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya on Monday, Kanchuri cited intelligence reports as the reason that informed their claims, going as far as saying that some IEBC officials actively colluded with the perpetrators of the alleged cyber attack to compromise the presidential polls.
He was flanked by other members of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition.
"We have intelligence reports that the IEBC system was penetrated and hacked and that some of the IEBC officials had committed electoral offences and some of them ought to have been arrested if they were not arrested
"I think you will remember that I had earlier stated that the Bomas of Kenya was a crime scene way before the results were announced."
Kanchuri went on to urge IEBC to release the official results of the presidential contest after verifying all tallied votes collected from polling centres across the country.
"The people of Kenya deserve nothing else. A result that is not verifiable is not a result and therefore that does not stand and the chairman (Wafula Chebukati) had assured Kenyans that the polls will be done transparently which it has not.
He similarly revealed that Raila will only arrive at the Bomas of Kenya once IEBC verifies the presidential election results.
