'Be serious with your work!' Wanga slams DP Gachagua after tell-all interview
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairperson Gladys Wanga has
criticised the move by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to lay bare the
intrigues regarding his fallout with his boss President William Ruto instead of
focusing on national issues.
Gachagua, in a tell-all interview with Citizen TV o Friday
night, expressed disappointment at his boss for the endless insults and
ridicule he faces from the President's allies, noting that it was high time for
Ruto to keep his promise of protecting his deputy.
In a presser on Saturday, Wanga read mischief in the DP's
statements and claimed that the frustrations arose from President Ruto's
decision to form a broad-based government with the opposition.
"When anybody from the presidency comes out to address
the country, Kenyans expect that they will hear from the presidency about the
many challenges they are facing," said Wanga.
"The bitterness is arising from the fact that all these
people, who were considered non-shareholders by the Deputy President, have come
forward and are also participating in this company that is called Kenya."
The Homa Bay Governor also noted that the Kenya Kwanza
administration should focus on delivering its mandate to Kenyans instead of
airing their dirty linen in public.
"Be serious with the work you're elected by the people.
If you're the DP or the President, you must be serious, instead of complaining.
Kenya Kwanza's role is clear," Wanga added.
During the live interview on Friday night,
Gachagua lamented being sidelined by President Ruto to the extent of being
excluded from State functions by being removed from the Head of State’s diary.
The DP went ahead to reveal plots of impeachment, claiming that MPs had
been bribed to oust him from office. He appealed to his boss to call his house to order and stop his humiliation.
