ASK urges private sector to capitalize on upgraded Jamhuri Show grounds

In an effort to boost activities at its facilities, the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) is urging private businesses to take advantage of the newly upgraded Jamhuri Show grounds.

The facility now features expanded exhibition spaces, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and modern amenities designed to enhance business partnerships and foster innovation.

"We are calling upon the private sector to come and pick up investment options presented by this master plan, so that we can invest together. We foresee serviced apartments, commercial and retail, but that is not our core businesses.  Therefore we invite private sector to come and invest with us," ASK CEO Batram Muthoka said.

Private sector players are expected to utilize the new spaces for exhibitions, product launches, and agricultural solutions, benefiting both farmers and the broader industry.

"The First phase ran with close toKsh.1 billion, that picked up the construction of the whole expo and we have done roads. For the second phase, we have demo plots, business demo centres. we are looking at another billion, in terms of implementation we will be about 805," Muthoka added.

The ASK believes that increased private sector involvement at the modernized showgrounds will drive innovation and contribute to Kenya’s agricultural growth, opening up new market opportunities.

Muthoka made these remarks on the 5th day of the week-long Nairobi International Trade Fair, which concludes on Sunday, the 29th of this month.

With doors now open for private sector investment, the Jamuhuri Show grounds is set to become a vibrant hub for collaboration, innovation, and agricultural progress.
