The
family of Asad Khan is now appealing for blood donation after he was allegedly
assaulted by his girlfriend, celebrated rally driver Maxine Wahome.
The
family, in a statement seen by Citizen Digital, thanked those who had already
donated blood to Asad, adding that more was however still needed.
Asad, who is also a rally driver, is presently receiving treatment at Avenue hospital, where he was rushed after
initially being admitted at the Nairobi Hospital following the incident.
“We,
the family of Asad Khan (Kalulu) hereby wish to express our utmost gratitude to
all those who came forward to donate blood for Asad Kalulu. He remains in a
serious critical condition and is fighting for his life,” read the statement.
“At
this point, we wish to request all friends and well-wishers to kindly keep him
in your prayers. The hospital team at Avenue hospital ICU require 5 pints of
blood group A+ or O+ for his ongoing treatment.”
Asad’s
girlfriend, Wahome, has since been released on a Ksh.100,000 cash bail pending investigations into the alleged assault incident.
She was arrested on December 12, 2022 at an apartment in
Kilimani after Asad’s
brother, Adila Khan, reported the matter to the police after being informed of
the incident by the management of the apartment.
According
to a court report seen by Citizen Digital, Kilimani Police Station officers
visited the scene and found that Asad had already been rushed to hospital,
whereas Wahome was still present but appeared “disturbed since some household
goods were littered on the floor and staircase.”
“On further examination, one of the window pane glasses was
broken as well as two door window pane glasses were also broken,” added the court
document.
The
court report added that Asad is still not in a position to give a satisfactory
account of the incident, further that Wahome is however fully cooperating with
investigators.
“The
scene was documented where forensic evidence to wit blood stains and other
items were collected and the respondent was escorted to Kilimani Police Station
where she was booked for the offence of grievous harm,” added the report.
