An application has been filed
before the Milimani Law Courts seeking to stop East African Portland Cement PLC
from selling any of its assets.
In the application, lawyer Apollo
Mboya claims the company is at risk of being irregularly alienated by an individual
impersonating an acting manager.
"That the 1st, 2nd, and 5th
interested parties have published an annual report and financial statement for
the year ended 30th June 2024 confirming the intention to dispose of the land
assets," reads part of the application.
Justice Byram Ongaya directed that
the application be served upon the respondents and scheduled the matter for
inter partes hearing and further directions on April 24, 2025.
According to Mboya, the company is
in the process of selling its land and claims that the company has obtained
rates clearance certificates for several parcels.
