Agano Party's David Mwaure launches 'Badilisha' manifesto

The final of the four candidates vying to succeed President Kenyatta, David has unveiled his platform: David Mwaure Wahiga of the Agano Party.

Mwaure, a man of God and a career lawyer kicked off the launch with the biblical story of David and Goliath, but not before setting the record straight.

According to Mwaure, the Agano Party had been unable to pick a grand venue for the Manifesto launch- such as the Kasarani or Nyayo Stadiums as they could neither afford them, nor were they using State resources.

"When we started our preparations for the elections on 9th August 2022, there were 54 of us. Today, I stand proudly as one of the only 4 candidates who has been cleared to run for 5th President of the Republic of Kenya," Mwaure said

"Of these 4 candidates, 2 of them have fought in Kenya’s army before. They have had opportunity to slay the giant – the Goliath called corruption,"

During the launch, Mwaure highlighted some of the ills that continue to beleaguer Kenya, six decades after Kenya gained independence.

According to Mwaure, Kenya has found itself in its current state because the nation has failed to do what God wants .

The presidential hopeful who likened himself to the Biblical David said that for starters, Kenya has systemised corruption, turned a blid eye on scandals, allowed wastage, resigned ourselves to dissapointment and accepted bureaucracy as a way of life.

"I feel that we have been circling the same mountain for 59 years, and I am convinced that now is the best time to break the cycle – break the covenants that do not serve our nation and reestablish God’s covenant with Kenya," Mwaure added.

If elected, Mr. Mwaure says his govermnment will be committed to leading Kenya towards progressiveness, steer the people towards productivity, and at the same time, foster prosperity.

His 12-pronged manifesto, dubbed 'Badilisha', English for 'Change', makes the proposition of starting from a clean slate.

According to Mwaure, having listened to the different candidadates launching their manifestos, he had arrived at a conclusion; that there was no  clear indication of how they would implement them given Kenya's balooning public debt.

"My greatest question is, how will they do it? In a country already heavily burdened by debt, how will they bring in new money to pay their pledges to households with insufficient income?" Mwaure posed

At the same time he also questioned the honesty of his competitors, particularly those who had been unable to bring change despite being in plum government jobs.

"How will they root out corruption when they have been in the system – in different governments and did not do it then?" he posed.
