56 Goats, Sheep Die In Naivasha Accident

The speeding truck which was heading to Nakuru left a trail of death and blood behind after hitting over 50 goats and sheep and leaving many more injured.

The 15 yr old boy who was caring for the herd also sustained head and hand injuries in the accident.

John ole Parasupula who witnessed the crash says the livestock were heading to a dam nearby for water when the speeding semi-truck ran them over.

The herdsman says due to the harsh weather conditions the animals had been constantly on the move from one pasture to the next.

Pastoralists around the area have however been expressing concern about the huge losses they have suffered due to accidents on the busy roads.

They now want the government to build more speed bumps in the area to slow down vehicles on the road.
