Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo has been
flagged by the Senate County Public Accounts Committee for massive wastage of
public resources.
The Isiolo Governor, according to the
Auditor General, has employed 36 advisors yet the law only approves four.
The committee chaired by Homa Bay
Senator Moses Kajwang wants the Governor surcharged for wastage of public
resources in paying for salaries and allowances to advisors not approved by
law.
The Governor could not name his four
advisors after telling the committee that the other 32 are not advisors and
only work under the Isiolo Public Service Board.
Governor Guyo has also breached the
law by employing two Deputy County Secretaries instead of one.
Isiolo County further surprised the
Senate committee after it emerged that there are 31 Chief Officers instead of a
maximum of 18 required by law.
The Senate session at one point turned
into a shouting session pitting the Isiolo Governor and Isiolo Senator Fatuma
Dulo.
