20 young Kenyan graduates inducted in UBA graduate management acceleration programme

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young professionals by inducting 20 Kenyan graduates into its prestigious Graduate Management Acceleration Programme (GMAP). 
The graduates were part of the 1,138 young professionals absorbed into the bank following an intensive training program designed to equip them with essential banking and leadership skills. 
Since its inception, GMAP has produced over 3,222 young professionals across Africa, reinforcing UBA’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of banking leaders. 
Speaking at the graduation ceremony held on Wednesday, 5th March, 2025, 
UBA Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu, emphasized the bank’s focus on youth empowerment and bridging the unemployment gap.
“At UBA, we believe Africa’s transformation lies in the hands of young, dynamic professionals. Through this Graduate Management Acceleration Programme, we are shaping future leaders and reinforcing our commitment to excellence and impact,” Elumelu said. 
UBA’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Oliver Alawuba, highlighted the bank’s commitment to human capital development.
“This Programme is a testament to our vision of equipping the brightest minds with the skills, knowledge, and mindset required for success in the financial sector,” Alawuba stated. 
Mary Mulili, UBA Kenya MD/CEO, expressed pride on the inclusion of Kenyan graduates in the program.
“At UBA Kenya, we are committed to nurturing young talent and creating career opportunities. The participation of 20 Kenyan graduates in GMAP underscores our dedication to being an employer of choice that fosters innovation and growth,” Mulili remarked.
