14 robbery suspects arrested in Machakos, military gear recovered in Nairobi

Police officers in Embakasi, Nairobi County, on Friday recovered several ammunitions and assorted military gear as well as other equipment.

According to a report from the National Police Service (NPS), the assorted items were found in an apartment by officers who were acting on a tip-off from members of the public.

Among the items recovered include 25 rounds of ammunition, military fatigue- jungle uniforms, bags, boots, helmets, military campuses, career bags, and military ID cards among others.

Elsewhere, in Machakos County, NPS reported that 14 robbery suspects were arrested on the same day while in possession of crude weapons, drugs and mobile phones.

"Police in Machakos County have arrested 14 suspected criminals found in possession of assorted mobile phones, cannabis Sativa, machetes and knives," read the NPS statement.

The two arrests follow heightened security around the country to crack down on muggers and curb insecurity.
