'Asap Royco': Kenyans on Twitter are dragging a young man who thinks he's 'pretty'
In a world where
you can be anything, a young Kenyan has decided to be the poster boy for
'prettiness' and is not shy to publicly blow his own cute horn.
During a random
street interview, presumably for Tiktok, a young campus lad was asked how much
was the most money he has ever spent on a date and he didn't waste time
breaking down his unconventional romanticism.
"What is the
most amount of money you have ever used on a girl?" the interviewer asked.
As if on cue, the
sassy chap shot his answer right back, spicing it up so much, he totally
digressed from the original topic.
"Bro, I
barely spend money on broads (slang for a woman). I've used two thousand.
That's the most amount of money I've used," he said, matter-of-factly.
"If you want
to slander me it's okay, I really don't care. I'm just pretty, it's different
for me. I'm the prize. Get me flowers also," he added.
After being egged
on, the unnamed man, wearing a white vest and a girly pearl neck chocker,
continued tooting his own horn, insisting he deserved to be treated according
to the standards of his perceived beauty.
"Buy me
flowers. I know I'm handsome, but of course I'll also buy you flowers and take
you out and make you feel like a queen," he went on.
"But I'm a king
too. I'm cut different... How many pretty men do you see?"
Given the
transient nature of social media, the video would have easily gone unnoticed
were it not for the fact that the 'pretty boy' in question does eerily look
like a man who has himself also insisted he is pretty β American rapper A$AP
Rocky.
The US rapper not
only has a song called 'Pretty Flacko' but after an arrest by Swedish police
after a 2019 altercation, he claimed to use 'Pretty M****r' as his official
nickname.
Kenyans online,
ever the witty lot, jumped at the opportunity to brand the spicy chap 'A$AP
Royco' a corruption of the name A$AP Rocky given the circumstances.
Complete with the
familiar cornrows, the fellow came off as a broke version of the famous rapper
married to a billionaire singer and beauty icon and the memes have dominated
Twitter for a solid day.
However, the
Kenyan A$AP, his fashion sense notwithstanding, still has some fellows in his
corner.
Twitter user
@FaustineDan came to his defense, saying, "Men, you may not agree with him
but letβs not bring down he who knows his worth regardless of whether you agree
with his style or not!"
