Zimbabwe’s First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa tours Ruiru in Kiambu County

The First Lady of Zimbabwe Auxillia Mnangagwa has urged Kenyans to embrace regular visits to health clinics to help in early detection of medical conditions such as diabetes.

Speaking in Ruiru, Kiambu County on Wednesday, November 14, Mrs Mnangagwa urged Kiambu County Government to organise periodic clinical sessions so as to reach as many people as possible.

Mrs Mnangagwa was hosted by Kiambu County’s First Lady Susan Wangari and Ruiru MP Simon King’ara to celebrate World Diabetes Day.

Auxillia Mnangagwa said: “With diseases – such as diabetes, no nation can thrive; and because we want our people alive to offer workforce to their countries, everyone should make an initiative to go and get tested.”

The Zimbabwe’s First Lady hailed her Kenyan counterpart, Margret Kenyatta, for championing mother and child healthcare through the initiative “Beyond Zero Campaign”.

It remains unclear when Mrs Mnangagwa jetted into Kenya, or when she will leave the country.
