'You helped me calm my insecurities,' Kate Actress praises Mumbi Maina as 'Nafsi' film premiers
Kenyan award-winning actress Catherine Kamau
Karanja, popularly known as Kate Actress, has showered praise on local and
international actress Mumbi Maina for helping her calm her
insecurities as she transitioned from TV into film acting.
Kate Actress, who came into the limelight for
her role on the Citizen TV show Mother In-Law where she played Celina, shared
how Mumbi held her hand throughout the making of the new film ‘Nafsi.’
“Acting alongside Mumbi Maina was a long
cherished dream of mine. God made it happen. This girl held my hand throughout
the making of 'Nafsi Film.' She helped me calm my insecurities as I transitioned
from TV into film acting,” she wrote on social media.
Mumbi is a prolific actress who bagged a role
as Zakia in the Netflix American science fiction show ‘Sense8’ and ‘The Matrix
Resurrections’, which premiers on December 22, 2021.
Kate Actress, who has also starred as TK in
the Netflix film dubbed ‘Disconnect,’ went on to appreciate the entire cast of
'Nafsi’ and Kenyans at large for their undying support.
“To the entire cast and crew y’all are epic.
To you Kenyans for coming out in large numbers to support us, God bless you my
people. Cheers to the next one.”
‘Nafsi’ is prominent director Reuben Odanga's
debut film, about Aisha Aisha, a married middle-class woman whose
childhood best friend offers to surrogate a baby for her.
The film is currently showing at Anga Diamond Plaza and Prestige Cinema.
