Willis Raburu resigns from Nairobi County job
In a statement on Monday, Raburu announced that he will be leaving the position with immediate effect.
"This morning, I have officially informed the leadership of the county that I will no longer be serving in my current capacity as the Chair of the Nairobi Festival Committee. It has been an honour to work alongside Governor Sakaja and his administration, and I would like to express my deep gratitude for the trust and opportunity that they have extended to me during my time here," Raburu announced.
He said the decision to leave the post has been driven by "a recognition of the pressing need for systemic change to enhance the effectiveness of our service delivery and leadership."
"It's clear that to better serve the county and its residents, a more comprehensive look at existing systems is essential, which to be fair, have already been instituted and I wish them all the best in this regard," Raburu added.
The former Citizen TV host went on to thank Governor Johnson Sakaja for giving him the opportunity to serve the community and wished him luck as he leads the county.
"I remain dedicated to supporting the county from a different vantage point and will continue working towards the betterment of our community," he further said.
Raburu left Citizen TV in June 2023 after a 13-year stint that saw him grow from an intern to one of the most celebrated TV hosts in the country.
Raburu’s journey at RMS started in 2010, where he transitioned from an intern to a News reporter, and later a host of 10 over 10 show.
