Vera Sidika, Kate Actress emerge victorious in Africa Women's Awards

Catherine, popularly known as Kate Actress, walked away with the Actress of the Year award while Vera clinched the Celebrity Sensation award. 

Both women beat out stiff competition from seasoned stars and pan-African heavyweights to emerge victorious. 

On her part, Kate Actress managed to shake off competition from the likes of seasoned Nollywood stars such as Ini Edo, Mercy Johnson, and Eve Esin to emerge at the top.

Vera Sidika proudly trounced big shots such as chef Hilda Baci, Mercy Eke and Cee C to walk home with the Celebrity Sensation gong.

Expressing her joy upon being declared the winner, Kate Actress extended her gratitude to her fans, acknowledging the support they had shown her. She wrote, "Mmeamua ni wow! wow! wow! design ya ambulance all year, Thank you Fam!"

Acknowledging the recognition, Vera, who is just bouncing back from a sick leave, said, "We did it sweethearts celebrity sensation. Thanks to everyone that voted for me. Kenya on top!"

The Africa Women's Awards aims to recognize and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments and groundbreaking achievements of hardworking African women across various sectors.

This fourth edition of the awards, themed 'Year of the Woman,' celebrates the extraordinary contributions made by women in shaping the narrative of the African continent.
