US Consul-General to Nigeria enjoys light moments with Afrobeats star Davido

Mr. Stevens, who has also served in Cape Town, South Africa, was photographed having a good time with the 'Jowo' hitmaker as they both goofed around for the cameras as Davido's team looked on, elated.

Taking to Twitter, Mr. Stevens said that the United States was glad to be a significant part of Nigeria’s musical industry, adding that he was happy to meet the record-breaking Afrobeat legend.

"The United States is glad to be a significant part of Nigeria’s rich musical industry. Happy to meet Afrobeat superstar @davido earlier today as we talked about Nigeria’s fast growing entertainment industry and how it's a strong pillar of support for the U.S.-Nigeria partnership." he tweeted.

Since his arrival to Lagos, the Consul General has met numerous prominent personalities across Nigeria as he seeks to cement the United States' footprint in Africa's largest democracy.
