Two songs, 100-city world tour: The Return of P-Square
Audio By Vocalize
The wait is over and the long anticipated duo
is back in the game. Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly known as P-Square, have
released their first song together after about 5 years pursuing their careers
separately.
For the lovers of Afrobeat, Afropop and
R&B, you’ll agree with me that you had missed the sensational vocals of
Paul and the dance moves of Peter in the mid and late 2000’s. ‘Ifunanya’, ‘Roll
It’, ‘Do Me’, ‘Forever’ and the hippy dance tracks, ‘Alingo’ and ‘Personally’
of 2014, not to mention the beat-killing collabos! One thing that was for sure,
the twins were born with a flair for the art.
The award-winning and multi-talented siblings
have returned with ‘Jaiye’ and 'Find Somebody’; a double-release written,
composed, and produced by themselves. The illuminated ‘Jaiye’ video, short and
directed by TG-Omori, features fans cheering them on as they perform live, as
if to mark their long awaited reunion. Alongside the release of their new
singles, the Nigerian pop stars have also announced one of the biggest world
tours of 2022. The duo’s 100-city reunion world tour will see them headlining
100 cities across North America, Europe, the UK, the Middle East, Asia, and
Africa.
On November 17, 2021, the Nigerian born twin
brothers announced their reconciliation and promised their fans to wait for
good music.
Ever since, they have done a couple of shows
around the world but they had not yet released any new song together.
Singing was their first love, which they have
held down over decades. Indeed, Peter and Paul are two halves of a machine and
without each other, they lose important elements of their artistry.
Together, they have harnessed it all and created the best pop group, not just in Nigeria but the continent. And they're just getting started on their second chapter.
