Multiple award-winning boy band Sauti Sol has announced a farewell international tour before they embark on what they term as an ‘indefinite hiatus.’

The much-loved Kenyan group, in a statement released on Saturday, stated that their farewell sojourn together will take them through the U.S, Europe and Canada.

“We are excited to announce that Sauti Sol. Africa's sensational musical powerhouse, will embark on an exhilarating tour stopping in 5 cities across the U.S. followed by 10 stops in Europe and 4 stops in Canada before taking an indefinite hiatus,” read the statement.

“This tour is a celebration of their remarkable journey, filled with excitement for the future, and a testament to the enduring bond of friendship and partnership built over 20 years in the industry.”

The band stated that at the tail end of the tour, each of the members will embark on their own personal journeys.

The quartet however, according to the statement, vowed to remain close business partners and friends, even as each pursues their own craft.

“The upcoming tour across the US, Europe. and Canada is a chance for fans to immerse themselves in the magic of Sauti Sol one last time, before the band takes a break from group projects for a while. Each performance will be infused with a sense of deep love and gratitude, as the ensemble delivers their timeless hits and fan favourites that have left an indelible mark on our collective memories,” noted Sauti Sol.

“While the indefinite hiatus marks the end of a specific chapter. it also represents a new beginning for Sauti Sol. As close friends and business partners, the band members, Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno, and Savara Mudigi, are eager to explore fresh creative avenues and embark on personal endeavours. However, their friendship and shared vision will continue to be the driving force behind their future projects.”

The group, in a joint farewell address, termed their career as incredible, and expressed much adoration to their fans for pushing them through the years.

"Sauti Sol has been an incredible journey for us, both as musicians and friends. We are filled with gratitude for the love and support we have received throughout the years. While we take this hiatus to pursue our individual and collective passions, we remain committed to our friendship and our shared businesses. The bond between us is unbreakable, and we are excited for what the future holds,” they said.

Sauti Sol is also set to grace the stage for two performances in Kenya; the first alongside Boyz II Men on June 10-11, 2023, and the second on the third annual Sol Fest scheduled for December 16, 2023.

The band will, in addition, also be dropping their last album together this year, which it says will be “a fitting reflection  of their musical journey as a band.”
