Led by Jose Gatutura, Ben Githae, Samidoh and Joyce wa Mama, these superstars brought the bubbly town to a standstill, arriving in style and later, putting on earth-shattering performances.
The show was part of the long-running 'Peace Caravan' - a series of concerts and performances organized by the Mugithi fraternity to help bolster peace and preach harmony amongst the Kenyan communities.
At Three Steers Hotel, the superstars started arriving at the swanky Master's Lounge as early as 4 pm as more stars trooped in as the night progressed.
Also part of the eminent stars in the Mugithi galaxy was Ben Githae, Kuruga wa Wanjiku, Sir James and the legendary Peter Kigia.
John Njagi, Kigia wa Esther, Chege wa Willy and Regina wa Anganiwe also made appearances as thousands of fans jammed the hotel for a thunderous night of music and merry making.
At the hotel, as has been in other places where the artists have visited, politics was strictly forbidden with the musicians insisting on purely serving music and steering clear of any political statements.
Ecstatic fans were treated to some of the biggest Mugithi hits of the last half a decade including John Njagi's 'Korwo Nindakui Tene', Jose Gatutura's 'Tuirio Twega', Joyce wa Mama's 'Wendo ni Uriru' and Peter Kigia's 'Reke Tumanwo'.
"Our choice to pick Three Steers is due to its ambience, suitability, strategic position, great customer relations and, of course, the excellent musical atmosphere," one of the event organisers said.
"We are grateful that they received us so well and gave such brilliant services to our musical guests. Also, to the fans who attended the Peace Caravan concert and vowed to maintain peace, we cannot thank you enough."
Prior to the concert, the caravan, also dubbed "Mugithi wa Thayu" snaked its way past various Meru County regions including Maua, Laare, Maili Tatu, Makutano, Timau, Gakoromone and Nkubu.
Other areas that witnessed the caravan included Ntugi, Gitimbine, Mukothima, Kathwana, and Ciakariga.
"We are honoured to have had the chance to not only host the concert but also offer accommodation to all these amazing Mugithi superstars," a Three Steers Hotel representative said.
"This is just one of the many programs with have and we shall keep them coming not just for the entertainment of the Meru people but also for the sake of peace and national harmony."
