Sultana actress 'Dida' , real name Winfred Bwire Ndubi.

Actress Bwire Ndubi, famously known as Dida, has called on the public for financial assistance as she continues her courageous fight against metastatic breast cancer.

Bwire, who stared as Dida in the Sultana Telenovela made the plea on Instagram, asking for financial support to facilitate medical treatment in her ongoing fight against breast cancer. She also expressed gratitude for the support she has received.

Having battled the disease for nearly two years, Bwire is urgently seeking to raise Ksh.7 million to facilitate crucial medical treatment abroad.

“How ironic is life? One moment, you’re basking in its beauty, and the next, you’re confronted with demons you never imagined would touch your life,” she shared.

Sharing the formidable challenges, she has endured and conquered along the way, she acknowledged the significance of community support.

“It takes a Village to do absolutely anything, I am coming to the only village I know; please take a moment to stand with me on this journey of recovery by donating anything you can to help me reach the required goal of 7 million shillings.”

Bwire’s journey began with swelling and discomfort under her armpits, initially dismissed as a general infection. However, persistent pain led her to seek further medical advice.

After consulting a gynaecologist and undergoing a biopsy, Bwire was diagnosed with Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a rare type of cancer that has the presence of abnormal cells inside a milk duct in the breast.

Determined to combat and conquer the illness, she started treatment and has endured eight rounds of chemotherapy, facing the associated hardships, from memory loss to hair loss and overall well-being.

Addressing her struggles, Bwire emphasised the importance of community support

"The beauty lies in not facing these challenges alone. It takes a village to navigate anything life throws our way. I reached out to the only village I know. Please consider standing with me on this path to recovery by contributing whatever you can," she implored.
