R&B star Control Bwoy teams up with Prezzo for tectonic smash hit "Exceptional"

Fast-rising singer and songwriter Control Bwoy, real name Churchill Ochieng, has kicked off the year with a bang after releasing his much-anticipated project titled "Exceptional".

Control Bwoy, who is one of the leading musical stars under the CMG Records conglomerate, has this time teamed up with Hip Hop wizard and rap legend CMB Prezzo in what is definitely promising to be a resounding hit and a sure earworm.

The mellow-voiced crooner, who also doubles up as the official songwriter in the CMG stable, dropped the jam on Monday, January 27, accompanying the song with a music video shot and directed by the brilliantly gifted Lynx Junior.

In "Exceptional", Control Bwoy brings out his dazzling best as he croons to his love object, sensually asking her to 'slow down' and immerse herself in an idyllic world that only he can offer.

"Somebody call my lawyer...." is succinct and pompous as an opening salvo, and Control Bwoy is nothing if not abundantly pomp. "Slow down, nikikupata unanicheat, nakupeleka Kamiti..." he purrs over a glissade of guitar and congas, with pleasant grandiosity.

Control Bwoy, who has over the last two years or so released a slate of juggernaut hits, all in different capacities as a singer and a songwriter, is looking to watch his latest release become a smash hit as he ebulliently seeks to reimagine Kenyan music and redefine the merging of R&B and dance vibes.

Talking of "Exceptional", Control Bwoy says that it's all about a man valarously baring his heart and soul to the woman of his dreams, while at the same time maintaining full control of the unfurling relationship.

"This is just me shouting at the top of my lungs and fearlessly telling my woman that I'm crazy about her and that I want her badly," he said. "Its basically just a song about a man who is crazy about his woman and who is not afraid of expressing his feelings and letting himself be vulnerable."

Control Bwoy, however, also adds that, through all the romantic angst, he could not forget to infuse some thumpy beats for the dance lovers.

"Anyone who interacts with the song on the dance floor is sure going to feel the rhythm and hit the floor! That I can definitely assure you!" he promises.

This is the first time Control Bwoy is working with the self-proclaimed "Rapcellency" CMB Prezzo, one of Kenya's most decorated and notable rappers.

Also, this is the second such appearance that Prezzo is making in a CMG Records project, hot on the heels of his sparkly collaboration with high-flying R&B ace Otile Brown.

The song's music video, shot at the paradisal Wadau Resort in Ruiru, features a bubbly Control Bwoy as he sings to his partner, and, as the video progresses, his efforts seem to pay off towards the end where Prezzo makes an appearance alongside Stephen "Dezz" Aoll, the founder and president of CMG Records - also featured in the jam.

"I'm happy to see the direction that Control Bwoy's career is taking. We've been working hard behind the scenes and sitting on massive projects because we want to release only the best to the market. I'm happy to have seen the development and eventual excellence of this particular project and happy to see my artists holding themselves down and flying the CMG Records flag high!" Dezz CMG said.

The stunning music video, directed by Linx, is already performing exceptionally well and has staggeringly amassed over 22,000 views in less than 24 hours.
