A pastor who claims
to have experienced hell after temporarily dying during a heart attack has come
out to narrate his ‘musical’ experience in purgatory.
Pastor Gerald Johnson of the Faith Culture Church in Texas, United States, says “my spirit left my physical body” when he suffered a heart attack in 2016.
He says despite being a man of
God, he was denied entry into Heaven and plummeted to the centre of the earth.
“It still baffles me to this day,” the pastor says in a
now-viral TikTok video which has amassed over 4 million views.
“There’s a section in hell where music was playing. It
was the same music that we hear on Earth, but as opposed to entertainers
singing it, the music, demons were singing it. It was some of the same lyrics
we hear here.”
Gerald, who also labels himself a motivational speaker on
his social media accounts, narrates
how demons ‘tortured’ him with pop singer Rihanna's song 'Umbrella' and R&B
singer Jazmine Sulivan’s ‘Bust Your Windows’.
“It was the same
music we hear on the Earth, but as opposed to entertainers singing it, demons were
singing it. While up here, you can listen to music to get over a breakup like
'Don't Worry Be Happy' or 'Umbrella', but down there every lyric to every song
is to torment you,” he says of the experience, which he adds he “wouldn't
wish on my worst enemy.”
“Every lyric to every song is to
torment you as to the fact that you didn’t worship God through music when you
were on the Earth,” he says.
He claims
that when musicians do drugs, they can open a portal to hell that allows demons
to whisper lyrics to them, which ultimately allows Satan to control people.
“You had a chance to worship him in church and at home and through music, but you chose to worship Satan by repeating the lyrics that he inspired to come into the earth.”
In his view, the story should serve as a warning to those who choose to enjoy secular songs instead of hymns and prayers.
