Rapper Nyamari Ongegu, popularly known as Nyashinski, has released a diss track directed at his former producer Cedric 'Cedo' Kadenyi after the former collaborative duo had a public artistic breakup.

Nyashinski, a battle-hardened rapper who has dabbled in hugely successful diss tracks before, on Friday released a song titled 'Silencer', an apparent diss directly aimed at his former producer-turned-foe Cedo.

In 'Silencer', Nyash kicks off earnestly, telling off Cedo for his 'greed', calling him a fool and a 'snake' drooling over his fat payday.

"Ni stupid ku argue na fools, so siwezi argue na fool, nakaanga cool, naona masnake wameona cheque wakaanza kudrool ni ka wako ma shrooms, naangusha chwani unaona plateau...." he raps in the song's intro.

The 'Mungu Pekee' rapper then launches into full attack mode, declaring himself the 'Boss', his displeasure clearly felt in the punchy lyrics.

"Unaongea ni ka we ni Boss... unadai kulipwa ni ka we ndio Boss na unaniitanga Munene... hamjui nani mmecross... ask your sources... nani ndio sos...Nyi ka breakfast, nyi wote ma toast," he raps.

The rapper further continues to chide Cedo, hinting that the music composer was biting more than he could chew by looking into earning more than he was worth.

"Nimeskia kuna mtu wa mkono analia anataka kulipwa kama contractor... Mfereji imefungwa... Acha sasa tuone nani atakukanja..." he raps.

He goes on, "Hatufanani, hatutoshani, unalisha family, nalisha village... Nakuwanga boss, unakuwanga worker, udaku ni ufala, heshima ni must... "

The two-minute, thirty-second track then fades as the rapper reminds Cedo that the beef is more character-based than monetary.

"Tunaongelea character sio ata maziwa..." he finishes.

In an exclusive published by Nairobi News on June 13, Nyashinski and his long-time friend and composer Cedo fell out over a multi-million deal which happened to be the reason the ‘Mungu Pekee’ hitmaker has pulled 20 of his hit songs from Spotify and Apple Music.

A spot check would later reveal that over 20 of Nyashinski’s records that were originally available on streaming giants like Spotify and Apple Music were no longer available.

Well-known Nyashinski hits such as Kebs, Hapo Tu, Mungu Pekee, Aminia, Properly, Marathon Runner, Kabla Tudie, Lift Me Up, Malaika and many more suddenly disappeared from streaming on Spotify and Apple.

They, however, are still available on YouTube.

The outlet would then establish that the move could have been triggered by a disagreement between the two friends over a multi-million deal.

“What I hear is that the two had a falling out over a Ksh.10 million-plus deal. Shinski landed a mega jingle deal from one of the country’s telecom companies. He approached Cedo to produce the jingles and offered to pay him Ksh.1 million, which the producer initially agreed to,” a source told Nairobi News.

However, on second thought, Cedo wanted to know how much the deal was worth through his connections with the telecom company.

“Cedo and Shinski have come a long way, which means they know each other very well. I think for some reason Cedo, had a gut instinct to find out how much the deal was worth. They have both secured deals from Telecom [companies] before,” the source added.

"To his shock, Cedo discovered that Shinski had signed a deal of over Ksh.10 million for the jingles and couldn’t believe that he was only offering to pay him Ksh.1 million, so he demanded more and this orchestrated their disagreement."

Late May, Nyashinski also unexpectedly pulled out of the much-publicized U.S. Madaraka Festival tour 5 days to start.

Nyashinski expressed his disappointment, saying, “We had very much looked forward to the tour and we sincerely apologise for all the inconvenience this has caused."
