Nonini forced to reshoot music video after Kenyan producer declined to give him initial footage

Legendary Genge pioneer Nonini, real name Hubert Nakitare, has revealed the behind-the-scenes intrigues surrounding his latest music video for the song "Hustle Clean".

In an X post, Nonini revealed that the initial "Hustle Clean" music video was shot in Kenya but the video producer refused to hand over the footage to him, forcing an overseas reshoot.

Explaining the absence of his collaborator Michelle Bisonga in the video, Nonini revealed that he had to redo the entire shoot in Miami, USA.

"Believe it or not I shot this video in Kenya December then a dude refused with my footage nikaingia Miami and shot it again," Nonini wrote.

"That's why Michelle Bisonga is not on this version because he is holding her footage."

The new video, shot by Hussein Njoroge, sees Nonini cruise around in a sleek red jeep as he tours some of Miami's most serene beaches. Michelle Bisonga, who is doing the chorus, is conspicuously missing.

After several fans asked Nonini what action he had taken against the errant video producer, he promised that he would settle the matter and ensure that such malpractice would not happen again.

"But mtaskia story this will be the last time people mess with someone's livelihood..." he promised.

The video, uploaded on YouTube just two days ago, has already clocked an impressive 100k+ views.

The "We Kamu" rapper is also gearing up for an upcoming Summer Tour which will see him play in various Canadian cities.

He will perform at Toronto on June 15th, Calgary on June 29th and Vancouver on June 30th.
