Nikita Kering announced she has turned 20, but KOT don't believe her
Kenyan
songstress Nikita Chepchumba Kering, a child prodigy who has taken over the
music industry by storm, has now turned 20.
Kering
shot to fame in her early teens and has steadily risen to become one of Kenya's
most formidable musical powerhouses.
The
sultry singer, whose stirring voice and music has seen her become somewhat of a
cult figure online, took to social media to celebrate her newest milestone -
turning twenty.
This after she just walked away with the coveted ‘Female Video of the Year’ (for Ex) award at the 2022 Pulse Music Video Awards.
The
'Ex' hitmaker's foray into the awards world began much earlier when she won the
same Pulse Music Video Award for ‘Best New Artist’ in 2018 before winning the ‘Best
Female Artist’ at the Afrimma Awards just an year later.
Kering
was born on February 26, 2002 to parents, Anne and Joseph Kering.
She
went on to attend the Riara Springs Academy, Kilimani Junior Academy and
Brookhouse International School where she graduated with a diploma in Business
and Technology in Music.
Some people on Twitter have however rained on her parade and wondered whether Kering could be lying about her actual age, presumably going by her already full plate of achievements.
Well, it's Happy Birthday Nikita Kering, either way.
Happy birthday buy you ought to be older
