Nigerian Gospel singer Sunmisola Agbebi named Spotify EQUAL Artist for February

Nigerian Gospel singer, songwriter and worship leader Sunmisola Agbebi has been named the Spotify EQUAL Africa Artist for February 2025.

The digital music streaming giant noted that the EQUAL Africa programme aims to showcase outstanding female talent from the continent and elevate them globally.

Sunmisola now joins fellow Nigerian singer Qing Madi in the programme’s 2025 class: Madi was named the Spotify EQUAL Africa Artist for January.

Sunmisola, who began singing at the age of four and has participated in numerous Gospel competitions, released her debut single Amazing’ in November 2020, 

Since then, she has gone on to release tracks like B'Ola (Honour), that blend traditional African drums with contemporary sounds and infuses chants, delivering heartfelt worship that resonates with listeners and strengthens faith.

Sunmisola recently released Holy Spirit,’ which expressed reverence and dependence on the Spirit of God, and is set to release her new album ‘Glory,’ on February 21, 2025.
