Crystal Renay Smith, the wife of
singer Chimere Smith alias Ne-Yo, has filed for divorce after accusing
him of being unfaithful throughout their eight-year marriage.
Renay now says Ne-Yo "just
fathered a minor child with his paramour," according to documents obtained
by international media outlets.
She requested joint legal and
primary physical custody of their children from the court, while also seeking “adequate
child support.”
According to the paperwork, the
couple legally parted ways "on or about July 22, 2022, and they had
continually lived in a bona fide state of separation since then."
The mother of three said she is
"entitled to a divorce from Ne-Yo on the grounds that the marriage was
irretrievably damaged with little possibility for reconciliation."
In the court paperwork from
international media, she also claimed that she knew Ne-Yo had "done the
act of adultery."
The
divorce filing came just days after Renay publicly claimed in an Instagram post
and said that Ne-Yo had been disloyal.
“8 years of lies and deception. 8
years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous of women who
sell their bodies to him unprotected…every last one of them! To say I’m heartbroken
and disgusted is an understatement. To ask me to stay and accept it is
absolutely insane. The mentality of a narcissist," she wrote.
