MrBeast establishes feeding program, buys desks and digs boreholes for Kenyan pupils

Born James Stephen, the businessman and philanthropist landed in Oloirien Primary School in Nairok, where he immediately embarked on upscaling the learning infrastructure as well as equipping them with farming materials for food security.
He established a feeding programme at the school, which saw the admission rate of learners go up.
Kicking off his April 12 video, MrBeast brought his team to a Kenyan school, promising to feed as many people as the views garnered from the video.
"You watching this video will supply farmland, build massive kitchens and build schools with food for their students and save children from child labour," he declared.
"Because of our meal programme, the school attendance skyrocketed."
MrBeast and his team purchased new desks for the learners, who had all the while been studying from the cold, dusty floors.
A truck filled to the brim with news desks soon parked in the school compound and was welcomed by the cheers from the pupils, who had been accustomed to four of them sharing a desk made for two.
To sustain the food programme, the philanthropist equipped the community around the school with farming technology to increase food production.
He bought a tractor for the farm run by his foundations; the farm has been divided, and a chunk is dedicated to the school's food production.
MrBeast expressed confidence that with highly mechanised farming, food production would be enhanced, hence curbing hunger, which is among the major challenges in the school and the adjoining localities.
He also brought a truck for supplying surplus production to the markets.
Next, a new, bigger, and more modern kitchen was constructed in the school to facilitate the two-meal-a-day programme. A well, a water storage tank, a greenhouse, and a farm were also added to ensure that the school did not go without food.
At the end of the Kenyan section, MrBeast left the school with enough food for 100,000 meals.
He revealed that he uses the funds generated from the YouTube views to support the charitable cause.
Besides Kenya, the American YouTuber undertakes such projects in countries like Ghana, Somalia, Uganda, Cameroon and Zimbabwe.
His philanthropic acts include sinking boreholes for clean water, donating food and learning materials, building bridges, and donating bicycles.
As usual, Kenyans took to social media to criticise politicians in the area who had neglected the schools necessitating this intervention, with one X user alleging, "MrBeast has done what the KK government could not achieve in 30 years."
Another added, "It’s sad that despite having an MCA, MP, Senator, and Governor, the area is still so neglected that MrBeast has to step in and do what leaders should’ve done long ago."
On his part, Alex Mwaniki said, "And then Ruto uses six choppers and 100 cars to go launch a library in Thakara Nithi county. Who knows, he might even go to Narok and re-launch these MrBeast projects and pretend they're his own."
MrBeast broadcasts his acts of charity through YouTube account that boasts of over 380 million subscribers.
