'Media interviews will bring you down' - Guardian Angel warns fellow singers

In an undated video clip, Guardian Angel was caught reprimanding some artists for doing an interview with the media, telling them to stop immediately and concentrate on doing music.

In the clip, Guardian Angel, who was accompanied by his wife Esther Musila, is heard saying the media will use the interviews to bring shame and ridicule to artists.

"Wacheni kufanya interviews, imbeni songs, imbeni songs. Wachana na hizi vitu za mainterviews. Watu wanataka tu songs. Mambo sijui nani alifanya nini, nani akafanya... hiyo vitu wachana nazo kabisa. Mtu akikuita interview kataa. Because, interview zinawaua, haziwajengi," Angel could be heard saying.

"Watu wanaumauma hizo vitu mnasema halafu watazitumia against you. So wachaneni na hao kabisa. Hao ndio wanawaua. Kataa camera kabisa, kataa camera. Imba tu. Ile siku unaonekana kwa camera ni kushoot video, sio kuongea," he added.

Guardian and his wife Esther then hopped into their car and sped off, leaving the artist he was advising behind as he laughed.

The singer has been the subject of discussion on social media platforms, especially after he married Esther, who is way older than him. 

Guardian at 32 and Esther at 50, many Kenyans who are not used to such kind of arrangement found it uncommon, hence questioning Guardian's choices.

However, the singer has stuck with his wife and the two have given critics a deaf ear. And indeed they look together, even as they push on with their marriage. 

Perhaps the stories written and told about the couple have pushed them away from the media, and created a frosty relationship between them and the media. 

And as he says, Guardian Angel has continued to fly high with new releases, putting his name firmly on the gospel music map.
