'Life na good oh!' Kanze Dena shoots down fake news of battling ill health
The former Citizen TV anchor on Tuesday reacted to an X post shared by a user who asked his followers to pray for her, while attaching a poorly-designed flyer suggesting that she had claimed to be on her deathbed.
It read; ""I am going to die." Kanze Dena battling with Nasopharyngeal (Throat Cancer)."
Dena wasted no time in shooting down the misinformation, simply replying, "FAKE NEWS is the enemy of the people."
The X account behind the fictitious news belongs to a Kenyan influencer and news purveyor who goes by the username @Goddie_Ke. He boasts an astounding 551, 000 followers.
Interestingly, the tweet was sent two days ago, - Sunday, April 7. It has so far been viewed over 245k times and has close to 2k 'LIKES' and hundreds of reactions.
On Instagram, Dena also assured fans and followers that she was of good health and good cheer. She also took time to wax lyrical about God's goodness and sustenance.
"Life na good oh! Not exiting this race called life anytime soon! Fixing my eye on Jesus the Author and finisher of my life. I stand and declare God's word that He shall honor me and Satisfy me with long life," she declared.
"No evil shall befall me, neither shall any plague come near my dwelling. I shall live to declare the works of the Lord in the land of the leaving (sic)!"
Dena continued to invoke God's grace over her life, rebuking anyone behind the fake news, saying they would be 'condemned'.
"God I thank you for your word for it shall not go out and return void. I am confident of this Every tongue that raises itself against me in judgement is condemned. This is my heritage!" she stated.
After Dena's confirmation of her own health status, many X users blasted the account for blatantly spreading the fake news, wondering why they hadn't deleted the tweet already.
"Why are you spreading fake news? You should have deleted the moment she responded! You need to be prosecuted!" one X user said.
Another said, "Hello @Goddie_Ke . What do you get by spreading such news? Even after Kanze Dena dismissed them, you haven't pulled it down. Shame on you!"
On his part, user Dan Ojuka shared, "Disastrous my sister! I wonder what the so called fake bloggers intend to achieve with such crap. Its sickening. This should not end here. Take it all the way to the High Court!"
Dena recently celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary with her husband Nick Mararo in a colourful event that was attended by friends and relatives in early March.
