Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl halftime show is now the most-watched of all time

The 2025 Super Bowl was the most-watched in history, with an estimated 126 million viewers, peaking at 137.7 million just before halftime, following a Philadelphia Eagles victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Nielsen fast national figures and Tubi/NFL first-party analytics.

Roc Nation announced that the rapper's halftime show has become the most-watched Super Bowl performance, with 133.5 million viewers, surpassing Michael Jackson's record of 133.4 million in 1993.

This is an incredible feat for Lamar, as he was the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

Lamar, the 2018 Pulitzer Prize winner, performed at the halftime show of the Grammy Awards, featuring his five-time Grammy-winning song "Not Like Us," a diss track written for fellow rapper Drake, and singing 12 songs.

Lamar's halftime show at , featured powerful imagery created by his dancers, including an American flag created during his song "Humble."

“We’ve broken the record again! The most watched Apple Music Halftime show EVER, with 133.5 Million viewers,” the companies wrote on Instagram.

Lamar’s halftime show performance drew a larger audience than the Big Game itself, which Fox Sports reported had an average of 126 million viewers.

The Philadelphia Eagles emerged victorious over the Kansas City Chiefs during Sunday’s (Feb. 9) broadcast, with a final score of 40 to 22.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning MC brought out all the stars, from Samuel L. Jackson to SZA to Serena Williams to Mustard, and mostly performed songs from his 2024 Billboard 200-topping LP GNX, like his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 “Squabble Up,” “Peekaboo,” “Luther” (with SZA) and “TV Off.”

And, of course, he performed his five-time Grammy-winning smash “Not Like Us” to the world’s biggest stage for the ultimate checkmate in his epic rap beef with fellow rapper Drake, who once rapped “Big as the Super Bowl” in “First Person Shooter.”

Recent halftime shows have featured artists like Lamar and Usher, who have gained significant popularity among millennials and Gen Z. These artists have drew a larger audience than any other halftime show in recent history, with 123.4 million and 121 million viewers, respectively.

Both fans of K.Dot and those interested in the beef between Lamar and Drake were eager to see if Grammy-winning Drake diss track “Not Like Us” would make it to the set list. The song was recently crowned the most decorated song in Grammy history, winning all five of the awards for which it was nominated.

Dot and SZA will be taking over more stadiums in the world than New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome when the dynamic duo embarks on their Grand National Tour in April, with a U.K. and Europe leg slated for July.
