'I'm the queen of Afro Rap': Diana B back with another hit as debut song hits 1 million views
Diana Marua aka Diana B is back with another song, barely four
days since she debuted her rap career with ‘Hatutaachana.’
“It's time to address the people doubting that I'm
the best female rapper! I mean, the queen of Afro rap,” she wrote on her
Instagram.
In a radio interview on Kiss 100 on Friday, Diana disclosed
that the new song centers on the story of her life.
“I first wrote the song ‘Hatutaachana’ two months
ago. After that, a month later is when I did the song that I’ll be releasing
today, titled ‘One Day.’ That one is personally from my heart, what I have gone
through in life and it just generally speaks about my life,” she said.
Despite being a novice in the music industry, Diana’s
first song has already garnered 1 million views on YouTube with ambivalent
reactions from fans and fellow household names.
Taking to her social media, the new rapstress was
ecstatic as she informed that she is fully booked for her first performance
this weekend.
“A girl with her trending hit will be performing
for the very first time in Nakuru, Bahati Constituency! Youth Festival
organized by Hon. Irene Njoki at the Bahati Stadium. I’m excited and
I cannot wait to see y’all there. Let’s make memories because mimi na watu wa
Nakuru hatutaachana. Later in the night, Kisii I will be in Your Town!” She
said.
Diana also recently shared her rate card of Ksh.850,000
to book her for a show. She questioned why netizens were stunned by the price,
wondering how much Kenyan artists are paid for a performance.
“Why Are People Shocked at My Rate Card? Just Ksh
850,000. Kwani Wasanii Wanalipangwa Pesa Ngapi?”
She posed.
