Veteran
Kenyan actor Davis Mwambili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, has come out to
break his silence over reports of his death on social media.
This
comes after TikTok account @Vonkali23 on January 5, 2023 posted a seemingly emotional 22-second
slideshow of the comedy titan’s photos with the caption ‘RIP Mwala....He died today in the morning.'
The
video, which has since garnered over 214,000 views on the app, contained snippets of the actor in various scenes with his co-stars
on the popular Citizen TV programme ‘Inspekta Mwala.’
However,
speaking to Citizen Digital on phone, Mwala hit out at the TikToker for what he
termed as “killing me while I’m still alive.”
He
further fired a warning shot to the social media user behind the account saying
he has since reported the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
(DCI) for proper probe.
“Mwala
is still alive, whoever made the clip should watch out because I have reported
to the DCI, and it will not be pretty when we catch up with them,” he said.
“It’s
not the first time this is happening, these people kill me on social media
every year. This time it was TikTok, last year it was Facebook, another time
Twitter….it needs to stop.”
