"I'm heartbroken!" Tyler Perry expresses regret at not meeting President Ruto, promises to visit Kenya soon

American movie mogul and playwright Tyler Perry has reacted to President William Ruto's visit to his Atlanta studios, expressing his regret at not being able to meet the Kenyan leader due to his booked schedule.

While taking to his Instagram page, a regretful Perry revealed that he was heartbroken he couldn't have made a meet-up with Ruto happen, promising, however, to make up for the lack of opportunity by paying a visit to Kenya soon.

"Unfortunately my schedule was booked and I'm heartbroken that I couldn't move things around in time to be there to greet President Ruto of Kenya as he and his family and delegation toured Tyler Perry studios," he said.

"The good news is that means I will have to make my way to Kenya very soon! I am honored, humbled, and thankful that you stopped by President Ruto."

While sharing a carousel of President Ruto's maiden visit to his million-dollar studios, Perry also thanked legendary comedian and TV host Steve Harvey for ultimately saving the day.

"Thank you ®iamsteveharveytv for stepping in. What a blessing," he captioned.

President Ruto and his entourage toured the Tyler Perry studios on his second day of his US visit and was warmly recieved by renowned TV host and stand-up comic Steve Harvey.

As he made his entrance, a large screen at the studio's entry point flashed a bombastic sign reading: "Karibu, President Ruto."

Ruto was accompanied by among others, First Lady Rachel Ruto, US ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman and popular Kenyan comedian and scriptwriter Eddie Butita.

The Tyler Perry Studio was opened back in 2019 and attracted some of the biggest names in Hollywood - and beyond.

The writer and director officially opened his massive studio with a party that drew high-profile celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Samuel L Jackson, Halle Berry, Spike Lee, Cicely Tyson and others.

The facility, a 330-acre studio, is one of the largest in the US, and once served as a Confederate army base.

"I think it’s pivotal in everything that we’ve done, everything that we’re doing still, that we continue to try to motivate and inspire people,” Perry then said.
