Hollywood star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has sent a warm message to the heroic pilot and crew who rescued a terrified Kenyan driver who had been stranded in raging floods for over six hours.

In a video message posted on his social media platforms, the star lauded the pilots from the Sheldrick Wildlife Sanctuary for their 'courage, valour and heroism' adding that he understood how difficult the task really was.

The wrestler-turned-film star also said that the act of courage displayed by the two pilots inspired him having played a pilot role on a rescue mission in the 2015 disaster movie 'San Andreas'.

"This message is for two very special people, very skilled and special pilots and of cause the larger organization," The Rock said.

"Guys I just want to say I was so impressed and so moved and so inspired by your act of courage, valour and heroism as you saved that man whose truck was tipped over. I have had the great fortune and privilege to play helicopter pilot in situations like that but you guys are the real deal."

"In my little bit of training and research, I understand how difficult that is. I was so moved by that and I was so incredibly impressed and I just wanted to give you guys so much love, mwaaah! Send so much love to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - the larger organization, what incredible work that you guys do, " The Rock added.

Prior to recording and sharing the video, The Rock had earlier also commented on the pilots' brevity under a tweet shared by international journalist Yashar Ali.

"What an inspiring moment here. Humanity at its best. His eyes say it all. Great work @SheldrickTrust," The Rock tweeted.

The movie-style rescue mission, which was shared by the Sheldrick Wildlife Sanctuary, caught the attention of millions of people across the world and made headlines across multiple multinational media platforms.

The video showed a driver being pulled out of a truck swept away by heavy floods in Galana Kulalu after six hours of being stranded.

As shared on the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust page, the tanker was driving across the Galana-Kulalu causeway when the river suddenly flooded and surrounded it.

According to The Trust, the driver was stuck in the tanker from 10:00 am and it was not until 4:00 pm that the manager raised an alarm and the rescue troops swung into action.
