The tech mogul spoke lengthily about his recent work for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) at the conference, while his son could be seen fidgeting around and, at some point, mouthing words at President Trump.
The sight of the young lad parading around Donald Trump's Oval Office may have gotten some ‘awe so adorable’ kind comments on social media but the mother of the child and Elon Musk’s former partner, Canadian singer Claire Elise Boucher, known professionally as Grimes , wasn’t thrilled by the entire spectacle.
The Canadian recording artist blasted Musk for taking their child into the spotlight after a fan alerted her to their high-profile appearance on X.
"He should not be in public like this,” she wrote. “I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I'm glad he was polite. Sigh.”
Elon Musk, 53, and Grimes, 36, dated from 2018 to 2022, and as aforementioned they share three children – sons X Æ A-Xii (aged 4) and Tau Techno Mechanicus (aged 2) and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl (aged 3).
After their breakup, Musk - who many are now saying is running the White House - sued for custody of their children in Texas.
Grimes then counter-sued and filed a “petition to establish parental relationship”.
She claimed the Space X CEO was withholding access to their kids and even prevented them from seeing their terminally ill maternal grandmother.
The Texas dispute was later settled, a Travis County Clerk confirmed without giving further details.
Though Grimes doesn’t enjoy being in the public eye much and tries to be away from the controversies, as much as possible, she recently was dragged into one when Musk appeared to give a Nazi salute following Trump’s inauguration.
After severe backlash, she wrote on social media, “It’s absurd that someone can be this canceled for something their ex did before they even heard it happened.”
"I am not him. I will not make a statement every time he does something. I can only send love back into a world that is hurting. “To be clear, I could go talk s*** and be on a bunch of magazine covers and be a feminist hero and get clout – but it would serve no purpose. I choose my children’s well-being. I promise you it doesn’t feel good to be hated all the time for things I don’t even know about, cannot predict and cannot control,” she concluded.
