Dilapidated! Kenyans react to poor state of school dormitory after Charlene Ruto visit

Charlene Ruto, the daughter of President William Ruto, went back to her former high school over the weekend, to interact with students and reminisce about her days as a school girl.

Charlene surprised many when she revealed that she attended Moi Girls High School, Eldoret. Some who saw her posts said they thought she went to an international school, or group of schools, as they like to call them.

She took a tour of her former classrooms, even sitting in the exact positions she used to take during her days at the school.

But what has left Kenyans talking are the photos Charlene shared when she visited one of the dormitories where she used to sleep.

Standing near her former bed and peeping through the window, the walls in the dormitory look dilapidated, showing that the structure has not been renovated in a while.

A section of Kenyans quickly pointed this out, urging the first daughter and indeed the school management to consider improving the conditions of the dormitory.

"It's nice you took these photos. The principal now knows the walls need to be repaired," one of her fans noted.

Another said: "The dormitory needs to be repainted. I hope you understood that."

The window also looks rusted.

During her visit, Charlene also interacted with the students, engaging them in environmental conservation discussions and further helping them plant trees.

"We shared on the importance of conserving the environment and the effects of climate change," Charlene said.
