Crazy Kennar reveals his son died days before Happy Country show
Kennar who was seen visibly shaken in a video that has been circulating online, expressed the difficulty of facing such a tragedy, while preparing for the stand-up show.
“I have gone through one of the hardest things. I was to come here as a father, but unfortunately, my son died four days ago. It has been a very tough journey for me because we had to go through that and at the same time, make the show,” he said.
Kennar further urged members of the audience to extend compassion and support to one another.
“Whenever you see someone walking and they are smiling, just go and ask them if they are okay. Let’s be our brother’s and sister’s keepers and love one another,” he emphasized.
Despite grappling with the grief, the 24-year-old comedian delivered a remarkable performance at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), which saw the attendance and performance of skits by celebrities including Sauti Sol's Bien-Aime Baraza and Jacky Vicke (Awinja).
This follows Kennar's prior advocacy for mental health as he took to social media in July 2023, to share a cryptic message: 'Depression is real,' hinting at a fallout with his crew, 'Content Cartel.'
