Concerned fans react to video of rapper Colonel Mustafa 'working' at a construction site
Mustafa, who has been away from the gossip mill for a lengthy period of time, was videotaped carrying construction bricks at an undisclosed construction site.
Donning a faded blue t-shirt and rough pants, Mustafa appeared disheveled but at the same time cheerful as he passed on a brick to a colleague at the site.
In July 2022, while on a popular entertainment TV show, the 'Katika' hitmaker revealed that he had battled depression for at least three years after leaving Nairobi Diaries.
"Things have been a bit tough, which forced me to disappear a little from social media as things were not good. It's been five years since I released music. Now I am back. I had depression at some point, like two or three years after I left Nairobi Diaries and things went bad," he said.
Colonel Mustafa was born in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania to a Kenyan dad and a Tanzanian mum.
His first song 'Monalisa' became a massive hit in the early 2000s as he continued to soar high musically alongside his then-partner Nasty Thomas with whom formed the now-defunct Deux Vultures.
Mustafa is also more widely known for his stint at the Reality Show 'Nairobi Diaries* where fans got a glimpse into the thrill-packed life of the Ladies Man who went on to dub himself 'Loboko'.
