'Children!' KOT react to video with Ombachi's kids cracking TV screen in tough economy

With the cost of living soaring and a raft of taxes proposed in the Finance Bill 2023, many people are looking to use their items - including electronics - for as long as possible without having to fork out more cash for upgrades or new items of the same version.

Former rugby player, turned chef - the 'roaming chef', Dennis Ombachi trended on Friday evening after sharing clips of how his children cracked the family's TV, and then went on to behave as innocently as kids do as if nothing had gone wrong.

In a post on Twitter, Ombachi uploaded two clips of him rebuking his son and daughter over the cracked screen and telling them that there would be no cartoons to watch, now that the TV was spoilt.

An unamused Ombachi could be heard in the background rebuking his daughter, Sasha, saying, "See what you have done there? What is that? Who broke the TV huh? Children... You broke the TV, now it's not working, there's no cartoon, the TV is not working."

The children could be seen unassumingly staring at the TV.

The videos attracted over 2 million views, with Kenyans on Twitter writing funny replies to the quagmire Ombachi had found himself.

Ombachi captioned the tweet with the videos, "Not in this economy."

Here are some of the reactions from KOT:
