Bungoma woman bites off married boyfriend’s manhood

A 31-year-old man from Lugusi Location in Webuye West Constituency, Bungoma County is recuperating in hospital after his scrotum was bitten off by his lover Thursday 4pm.

The man’s lover has been arrested, and is being held at Webuye Police Station.

Lugusi Location Chief Samuel Neyombe told EDAILY that the victim, Edwin Mukhwana, had visited his girlfriend, who was in the company of her female friend, in Bakisa Village, when the incident happened.

Neyombe says Mukhwana had just leased out his parcel of land to a sugarcane farmer, and “had a lot of money with him” when he went to his girlfriend’s house.

The administrator says the victim, who is married, had promised to give his lover some money, but the amount he dished out was “too little”, sparking anger in the woman.

“The friend of Mukhwana’s girlfriend confined his head using her arms, while the victim’s lover embarked on biting his testicles. The two intended to robe the victim of his money,” said Chief Neyombe.

Mukhwana’s screams of pain caught the attention of neighbours, who rushed to the scene and took the victim to Lugusi Dispensary.

While Mukhwana’s girlfriend was arrested, her friend managed to escape and police are still looking for her.

Lugusi Dispensary lead doctor, Emmanuel Mwanja, says Mukhwana’s condition is stable, even though he arrived while bleeding profusely.

“The victim was bitten on his scrotum, though his testicles remained intact. We have managed to stitch him, and he is now in a stable condition. He, however, remains weak. We decided to refer him to Webuye Hospital for advanced treatment,” said Mwanja.

Radio Citizen reporter, Kaitano Nyongesa, confirmed that Mukhwana has already been admitted at Webuye Hospital.

The incident elicited reactions from locals, with many urging married people to embrace faithfulness.

A Lugusi resident, who is a middle-aged woman, said: “If you are married, kindly remain faithful to your spouse. Had Mukhwana been faithful, this predicament wouldn’t have befallen him.”

Lugusi chief, Neyombe, urged area residents, especially the men, to make good use of the proceeds they get from farming and land-leasing.

“I urge men in Lugusi to wisely use the shambas they own. Proceeds from the use or leasing of such land should go to beneficial projects,” said Neyombe.
