TV and film memorabilia auctioneer Propstore is set to auction merchandise from popular franchises such as Star Wars, Batman and Bond in its annual live auction running from November 14-17 estimated to fetch $13.1 million (Ksh.1.6 billion).

The main attraction of the sale is a Sandtrooper helmet from ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’ estimated to cost between $326,900 (Ksh 42.1 million) and $654,000 (Ksh 84.2 million).

Propstore founder and Chief Executive Stephen Lane noted that certain costumes from films were rare and hardly turned up.

“It’s an incredibly rare artefact,” he told Reuters.

Lane added that another expected eye-snatcher is Eastwood's duster coat from "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".

"The duster is a synonymous attire for most Western films. This is deemed to be one of the best Western films, perhaps of all times and Clint Eastwood costume pieces from those films virtually never, ever turn up," Lane added.

Some costumes to be auctioned are Daniel Craig’s suit in Bond film "Skyfall", Michael Keaton's Batsuit from "Batman Returns" and the 2015 resizing jacket Michael J. Fox's character Marty McFly wore in "Back to the Future Part II.”

Other costumes include Russell Crowe's Maximus arena helmet and mask from "Gladiator", the Ghostface mask worn by Henry Winkler as principal Arthur Himbry in "Scream" and a dress worn by Elizabeth Taylor in "Cleopatra".
