All set for the Luo festival on Saturday

The Luo Festival, a celebration of Luo culture, will take place at Ngong Race Course on November 27, 2021.

The announcement was made via social media by the organizers.

It's going down heavy this Saturday. The phenomenal #LuoFestival will shut down the whole of Nairobi and everyone will be attending. Ngong Racecourse is the place to be.”

Emma Jalamo, Prince Indah, Kibandasky, Brizy, Elisha Toto, Achieng Ayar Awasi, Apesi, Dr. Osito Kale, and Achieng Nyar Rongo will perform live at the event.

On the deck will be Ogina Koko, Ajo Mbuta, Japolo, and Dj Ves, as well as Kiss 100 presenter Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o.

Comedian Jalang'o recently held a press conference with a number of Kenyan YouTubers to discuss the Luo Festival in detail.

The events master of ceremonies addressed the Luo Festivall event that was previously cancelled in August, following a letter from the Office of The President through the Interior Ministry that raised an issue with the rising cases of COVID-19 at the time.

The organizers of the event were ordered to reschedule due to concerns of safety amid the risk from the Covid-19 pandemic. Jalang’o confirmed that the tickets purchased at that time are still valid.

“All tickets from the previously cancelled event are valid! Come with them,” wrote Jalang’o on his Instagram.

The radio presenter proceeded to add that all tickets are VIP.

“All tickets are VIP tickets. Remember that the previous event was a drive in event and now with the opening of the country we could not come back to people to add more money for VVIP. We have the decided to give everyone a VIP treatment.”

Speaking on the issue of insecurity at Ngong Race Course, following recent events that have been held at that location, Jalang’o assured top-notch security at The Luo Festival.

“There is a big concern with security at Ngong Race course but we are assuring every reveler of their security because of the heavy deployment of security at the venue. We have sealed every loophole that the previous organizers ignored. Security checks will start from the first turn on Ngong road and not at the gate.”

The comedian added that all performing artists have already confirmed their attendance and stated that no food nor drinks from outside would be accepted, for there would be enough at the concert.
