After sparking heated debate online, Christina Shusho confirms Kenyan concert

Tanzanian Gospel star Christina Shisho has been trending on X (formerly Twitter) for the last several days as Kenyans shower the composer with love and adoration ahead of her planned concert.

Strangely, Shusho became a hot topic with Kenyans on X with many people currently still unsure how she suddenly ended up becoming such a trending topic and why people were so massively interested in her in the first place.

Shusho, who has been one of the most notable and listened to Tanzanian Gospel singers, has taken advantage of the renewed interest in her music and persona by actively pushing her new single 'Twasize Byose', a collaboration with Alarm Ministries.

Acknowledging the love she has been receiving from Kenyans, Shusho has been active on her own X handle, retweeting and making her own appreciation tweets aimed at her Kenyan fans.

She has also been sending money to her Kenyan fans after throwing out several challenges one of which has been asking fans to name at least 20 of her greatest hits.

As a token of her appreciation of Kenyans, the 'Ning'are' hitmaker has now announced that she will be performing at a concert in Nairobi over the night of December 31.

Shusho also revealed that she was collaborating with veteran comedian and radio host Churchill Ndambuki to entertain fans at the New Year's Eve gospel showdown.

"Due to increasing demands for a concert in Kenya my team and I are working with @MwalimChurchill to have a concert on the 31st December 2023...." she tweeted.

Shusho's popularity in Kenya appears to have come shortly after she sparked debate online over her direct, word-for-word use of the scripture in her lyrics. She particularly uses verses lifted straight from the Book of Psalms in some of her greatest hits.

Her song 'Shusha Nyavu', for instance, was lifted from the Book of Luke Chapter 5, verse 4.

While reacting to the discovery, one X user said, "How I love her messages..in fact, I will love them more if they are direct from the BIBLE. I wake up to listen to her glorifying songs!"

Another user @kimotho.brian said, "Getting to know the songs are directly from the Bible sounds even much better. Get me a Shusho anytime!"

Christina Shusho is known for her uplifting songs like Unikumbuke, Mtetezi wangu, Agano and Nipe Macho.
