SHE MEANS BUSINESS| From Machakos to the world, meet Stellamaris Mulaeh, the grassroots agroecologist

Growing up in Machakos, she experienced first-hand, the impact of a financially empowered woman on her family and the society as a whole and Stellamaris made it her mission to champion agricultural practices at the grassroots level that ensure both nutritionally whole foods for households as well as economic empowerment for farmers.

In addition to her passion for women's economic empowerment, Stellamaris's zeal for good nutrition stems from the fact that she has had to work hard to reverse the negative effects her daughter faced from eating low nutrient and sometimes harmful foods.

She therefore advocates for growing your own food, so that you are in control of the process and avoid harmful effect of chemicals.
