A large crowd gathered at Mama Ngina Waterfront and Pirates Beach, where the Safaricom Sambaza Furaha caravan made its final stop, filling the air with song and dance.

Excited residents walked away with bags of goodies, bringing extra cheer as Christmas approaches.

Stella Arithi, Integrated Chapter Lead at Safaricom PLC, expressed her excitement about the campaign's success:

“It has been an incredible journey since we began 35 days ago in Narok. We are really excited for our customers, and we are thrilled to bring this joy to them.”

The campaign resonated deeply with local residents, who expressed their happiness with the prizes. Celestine Akinyi, a resident of Mombasa, was one of the lucky winners:

“I’m so happy today. It felt like a chance I couldn’t miss. I won a goat, and this Christmas is going to be special. I’ve also got some unga here, and I’ve invited all of you to join the celebration!”

The Sambaza Furaha campaign, developed in collaboration with Royal Media Services, is part of Safaricom's ongoing efforts to broaden its reach and connect with more customers across the country.

Reflecting on the initiative's success, Stella Arithi emphasised the importance of customer engagement:

“We have reached over 25 million customers. It’s all about the spirit of Christmas. Our customers have truly built this brand, and it belongs to them.”

Tina Ogal, Acting Head of Radio at Radio Citizen, also expressed the commitment to staying connected with their listeners:

“We promise to continue engaging with our listeners and reaching them wherever they are.”

In addition to the celebrations, the campaign saw the opening of new franchise stores to bring services closer to the people.

The Gede Safaricom Shop in Kilifi County is the latest addition, part of Safaricom’s efforts to enhance accessibility and expand its footprint across the region.

Jackson Mutua, Regional Business Lead for Safaricom Coast, explained the broader expansion efforts:

“We’ve opened 100 shops, 25 per region, and over 600 franchise shops. Across all regions, we’re now reaching between 50,000 and 100,000 customers per region directly.”

Safaricom's Sambaza Furaha campaign not only brought joy and festive rewards, but it also expanded its service delivery, ensuring that Kenyans have easy access to telecommunications services as the holiday season begins.
